Google Cloud officially confirmed that Claude Fable 5, Anthropic’s latest frontier model, is now generally available to all customers through the Google Cloud Agent Platform.
According to Google Cloud’s official blog, Claude Fable 5 brings the best of Anthropic’s model capabilities to all customers, with strong safeguards designed to make it safe for general use.
Alongside Claude Fable 5, two other Anthropic models are also available on the platform: Claude Opus 4.8 and Claude Sonnet 4.6.
What Is Claude Fable 5?
Claude Fable 5 represents a brand new tier in Anthropic’s model lineup above the previous Opus tier designed for the most demanding AI tasks.

Finance & Research Anthropic reports it is the strongest finance-first model they have tested. It also broke 90% on a core analytics benchmark a 10-point jump over the previous Opus tier and is the strongest model tested on frontier physics research.
What About Safety?
Anthropic was transparent about the risks that come with releasing such a powerful model publicly. Because Claude Fable 5’s capabilities in areas like cybersecurity, biology, and chemistry are advanced enough to potentially be misused, the model ships with built-in safeguards that block or limit its performance in those high-risk areas.
Queries in sensitive domains like biology or cybersecurity may instead receive responses from Claude Opus 4.8, the next-most-capable generally available model.
This approach reflects Anthropic’s goal of making powerful AI broadly accessible while maintaining meaningful safety limits.
What About Claude Mythos 5?
Alongside Fable 5, Anthropic also launched Claude Mythos 5 on June 9, 2026 but this one is not publicly available. It is offered only in limited access to approved customers through Project Glasswing, Anthropic’s trusted-partner program for the most capable and less-restricted model tier.
Claude Fable 5 uses the same underlying model as Mythos 5, but includes the additional safeguards described above. Think of Fable 5 as Mythos-class intelligence, made safe for general use.
